During the summer and fall of 2023 I visited Japan to study traditional Japanese woodblock printing and to make drawings of Fukuoka farm. To capture my impressions I brought an Ipad with a digital pencil. This gave me freedom to quickly jot down shapes and colours, even in challenging circumstances like rain or in the dark. The result is a series of 65 digital drawings and many more sketches ranging from city to the countryside. From Tokyo, to the zen gardens of Kyoto, to rice farmers in Iyo on the island of Shikoku.
